Gold Coast VFR Event Recap

Updated: Feb 21

Thank you to all that attended the Gold Coast VFR event and look forward to many more ahead with our GA Sunday which happens you guessed it every Sunday at 3:00 pm AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time).

This event saw over 50 pilots spawn into Gold Coast Airport (YBCG) in their Cessna, Pipers, Spitfires and everything in between.

Unfortunately, I had issues with the simulator on the day but watched on the Aus Virtual Pilots YouTube stream. It was quite the sight watching the fight for runway space to get out of Gold Coast and head towards Southport, In Southport, there were pilots going around and fighting for parking spaces.

It was at Southport the winner of the AUscene Southport Airport for MSFS was announced. Congratulations to Gary on his win and from all of us at Aus Virtual Pilots we hope you enjoy it.

From Southport, there was a very scenic flight down to Murwillumbah (YMUR) which took a nice route along the Tweed River. From there a leisurely flight back to the Gold Coast this time with a change of scenery over the inland areas. It was great to see a huge turnout in numbers from not only Australia but India aswell.

If you attended and you were from another country I apologise for not mentioning you but please feel free to contact us in the Discord to let us know where you joined us from. If you missed out on the event the Youtube Video of the event can be watched here.
